Can you please say a little more about what it is that you are doing? Is this with a WaterColorBot? Are you using the Inkscape extensions? RoboPaint? And, can you tell me more about the bike? I'm not sure what this file is.
I'm not sure; it's possible that the pot has been damaged, or that your power supply has failed. We should take a look at it. Please contact customer service directly.
It sounds like you have multiple, unrelated issues.
The servo motor is likely broken and should be replaced. Unplug it from your EBB, and please contact our customer service directly about that: http://shop.evilmadscientist.com/contact
It sounds as…
Lead free solder is just fine, provided that your iron gets hot enough to melt it. Newer soldering irons do operate at a higher temperature; if you are using an older iron with lead free, it can sometimes be a little challenging.
(And, if your sold…
Do you have a multimeter that you can use to check for a connection between two points? If so, I would check to see if there is a connection from the pin of the IC (it's pin 23) to resistor R2, and to check to see if there's a connection from R2 to…
It sounds like there is no connection between the line LED2 and the rest of the circuit. Check the soldering at resistor R2, and also at the IC, on the side that faces R2.
First off, the IC is fine-- if it breaks, it will break completely.
Second: the green and blue LEDs won't light reliably until you give them ~3.4 V forward voltage. You shouldn't expect outputs from an Arduino running at 3.3 V to be able to drive t…
1, 2) The 5 V power supply (voltage regulator) on the EBB is there to provide a consistent 5V supply for the servo motor only. It is a 78M05 regulator, with 0.5 A output current capacity. The servo motor takes almost no current while idling under n…
The LEDs at the 4 and 5 PM positions (not shadows at 4 and 5, but LEDs) are D106 and D610-- again both connected to the LED6 line.
It sounds like you may no longer have a connection between the microcontroller's output and that control line LED6. If…
For reference, the servo should be hooked up as follows:1. First orient the EBB so that you are looking at the side with the components.2. Rotate the board until the terminal block is to the left, and the USB and power are to the right.3. The servo …
We've updated to 2.7.1 now, with a few bug fixes: https://github.com/evil-mad/EggBot/releases/tag/2.7.1
Specs are here: http://emsl.us/187(The most important part is what you already know: we recommend running them with 9 V DC.)
I'm not sure what you mean by "click on fill."
If you're trying to create text with the regular "text" tool in Inkscape, and you want this text to be filled in with lines, the most straightforward way to fill the text is to use the Hatch Fill extens…
Hi Shel,Those are there to provide places to mount various things with cable ties. The only thing that we've ever used them (thus far) for is to mount the vibrating motor for the diamond engraving tool. You can see a picture of that use on the prod…
We had one other report of (what we believe to be) this same issue, and were able to get their EggBot up and running with some changes to the software. We'll be publishing EggBot 2.7.0 within the next 24 hours as a beta release, and I hope that you'…
We have uploaded a new version of RoboPaint, which fixes some communication issues that we were able to identify. Please give this a try: http://blog.emscdn.com/scratch/RoboPaintMac_v2.0.0-Beta.1-2.dmg
Great-- glad to hear it.
I was wondering if it might be a motor wire order issue, but that's rarely been an issue with our kits.
Good luck with the rest of your project!
The behavior that you are describing sounds like what I might expect with too little current, or too high of a rotation speed. If you have adjusted the rotation speed in the extension, try setting it to 300 as a baseline value.
Questions for you: 1.…
The steppers do not depend upon the servo. Can you please describe how the steppers are misbehaving? Is it possible that you have not adjusted the current yet?
The warning means that you need to convert the text in your drawing to a path before printing it to the EggBot. You can read more about how to make text on the EggBot here:

Great-- always wonderful when a solution is straightforward.
On the pen issue: The first question is, "Is the pen lift motor working?" That is to say, when you toggle the pen position up and down in the Setup tab, does the pen lift motor move?
Ass…
The WaterColorBot is controlled through an Inkscape extension, not through the "print" dialog. You'll need to install the WaterColorBot software, and I'd recommend trying to paint some of our examples before creating your own.
The documentation is …
One thing that you might try -- a long shot -- is a different USB cable. (The WaterColorBot is extensively tested before shipping, but comes with a new USB cable.)
I am following up on the software side, to see what else we might be able to try from…
